Students participated in a "Metric Olympics" today. First they had to estimate how far their javelin (straw), discus(paper plate), and shot-put(cotton ball) would fly. Then they had to estimate grams, milliliters, and squared centimeters for the other activities. The Hellenes also competed to build "Greek pyramids" by racing and stacking cups. It was math; it was soc. studies; it was science; it was fun.
