Homework

Science - Sound test make-up. Students can make-up the matching and short answer sections of the test. Write answers on a separate piece of paper and staple to test to turn in. Due 2/8, only exception is absence today or tomorrow.

Soc. Studies: Read pgs. 224-227 in the soc. studies book. Quiz tomorrow 2-8. Arete Goal sheet week 3 due tomorrow. Students were given a list of their missing work today. Wednesday is the LAST day to turn in missing work. No exceptions! (Several consecutive absences within the last week would be the only reason to not have every assignment turned in by Wednesday.)

Students took the final TEST for ancient Greece today. If you were absent today, it is YOUR responsibility to make up the test during a lunch recess or after school.

Quiz: 1. What are Italy's two mountain ranges? 2. What is the island to the west of the toe? 3. What river runs through the Latium Plain? 4. Retell the story of Romulus and Remus 5. The city of Rome was founded on _____ hills. How did they help the city?
6. Which group of people settled in Italy before the Romans?

Language Arts: "How To Handle A Bully" Essay Due: 2/28. We are finished working on the essay in class. Students will need to continue working on them at home to keep improving their scores. On February 28, I will record the scores.

Oral Poem Performance of "Don't Quit" Due: 2/15. Students will be graded, so remember to practice it "Loud, Slow, and Clear." Tomorrow, February 8, I will be checking in class to see if the students have at least the first four lines memorized, and yes, this will be for points. I'm finding that too many students have not been memorizing their "one line per night" assignment.

We started a new essay today. "Causes of Good Grades" Due: 2/28. We will be working on this essay in class all this week and most of next week. After that, it will be the students' responsibility to keep working on their essay at home to bring up the scores.

Remember: If students are absent from my class, they need to makeup the missed class time working on their essays at home on myaccess.com, which is 40-45 minutes. Several students have been assuming that because I don't hand them a worksheet, they don't have any makeup work. Their makeup work is on-line.

Reading: Greek spelling/vocabulary test tomorrow. Study cards need to be turned in before the test for 25 points. Adventure is February's book report genre.
