Homework:
Math Pg 390 #10 -37 The assignment given today was difficult for most students. I am asking that everyone attempt to do each problem. We will be continuing with this tomorrow, and every class will be given further instruction. Just do the best you can!
Planner signed due 2-16
Read 30 minutes
Soc. Studies: QUIZ tomorrow! Make sure that you've read pages 236-243 and 252-257. If you still have some reading to do, count it as part of your 30 minutes. Pay attention to the sections "SUM IT UP" and "THINK ABOUT IT" for each section of reading. Roman maps that are not turned in by tomorrow will receive a 0%. Rome comprehension and the myth are also DUE tomorrow.
Reading: Stargazing quiz, Stump the Teacher (practicing spelling/vocabulary), and calendar/book reports passed out today. Book reports must now be typed, double-spaced, 14 font. Students were instructed that reports are to be a summary of the book read, retell the story with the main ideas of the story. Calendars/reports are due March 1st for full credit, March 2nd for half credit, after that, sorry. It's too late because I have to punch in reports cards. Stargazing spelling/vocabulary test Thursday, February 17th.
Language Arts: "How To Handle A Bully" Essay Due: 2/28. We are finished working on the essay in class. Students will need to continue working on them at home to keep improving their scores. On February 28, I will record the scores.
Oral Poem Performance of "Don't Quit" Due: 2/15. Students will be graded, so remember to practice it "Loud, Slow, and Clear." Especially SLOW!!! I wasn't able to hear every student in class today. I will continue to have students perform their poems this Wednesday and Thursday.
"Causes of Good Grades" Due: 2/28. We will be working on this essay in class next week. After that, it will be the students' responsibility to keep working on their essay at home to bring up the scores.
Remember: If students are absent from my class, they need to makeup the missed class time working on their essays at home on myaccess.com, which is 40-45 minutes. Several students have been assuming that because I don't hand them a worksheet,
they don't have any makeup work. Their makeup work is on-line.
