Renaissance/Fantasy Faire Last Minute Items
We will be doing some painting and a few messy activities tomorrow. You may bring an old shirt (dad type) to put on backwards and button in the back in order to cover your costume/clothes. An old T-shirt would work too.
Come dressed and ready for our Faire when school starts.
Girls- I have some head-dresses that you may borrow if you need something. First come, first serve.
Do the best that you can for your costume. If all else fails, come as a monk again.
Boys- Remember the Code of Chivalry all day. You're awesome!

Castles Group 1
As sixth grade teachers, we would really like to congratulate our sixth grade students for turning in such awesome castles! You really showed a lot of diligence, perseverance, commitment, creativity, and pride in your work. We congratulate you for turning in your assignment on time. We congratulate you for turning in QUALITY work. We congratulate you for managing your time, completing your research, and applying what you had learned to your project. We are so PROUD of your efforts. YOU should be PROUD of your accomplishment! Way to Go!!!
We are amazed at the VARIETY and CREATIVITY of your work! The students from other grades are fascinated by the castles and have told their teachers how much they love looking at them. Teachers from all grades and other people who have looked at your castles are so impressed by your work. They love the details that you added to your castles and are astonished at all the different materials that were recycled. Once again, congratulations kiddos!!!
We will feature a few castles at a time on the blog. All castles will be featured. Be patient!

Chivalry Day In Sixth Grade
April 5, 2011
What a great day!!! Today was "Chivalry Day" in sixth grade, and our students were absolutely wonderful as they focused on ways they could act more like ladies and gentlemen. It was a day that reminded all of us to be more courteous and respectful to each other. Students who wore "Sunday Best" clothes earned extra credit.
The following are a few of the students' comments about Chivalry Day:
Janelle said,"It's nice. Women in Ancient Egypt weren't treated very well. But today, we were!"
Maddie said,"It's a good day, because it teaches us respect."
Sydnee said,"It was fun and entertaining! I enjoyed watching the boys earn their tokens of appreciation."
Willie said,"It was a fun day, because we learned how to treat a girl with respect."
Tanner said,"It was a good experience. It teaches us a lot about manners."
Hunter said," It's a good day of being nice. It was fun earning the tokens."
Stephen said," It has been fun, and I've learned that carrying five backpacks is really hard! People really appreciate it when you're nice to them."
Brandon said,"It was good. It gets us ready to be nice to everyone and to have really good manners."
